I really enjoyed this poem: fathers father, yesterday’s news, soup- ( ex-doesnt need to be original- mothers recipe) I like the nature paragraph too. i write poems very rarely though- there was one you brought to my mind-Thanksgiving Soup- one ingredient was a knitter in the car, (who was me). your bonfire soup brought back memories and also kept me with your moment. ❤️Keep writing & inspiring others.
I have been learning my craft via a three month online poetry ‘Womens group’ called Coming Home, facilitated by Alison Smith. This is the third winter (and now the 3rd month) of this course. However, this is my first poem not directly in response to a set exercise. I suppose it’s actually looking at how to go about starting to write by myself, without the prompts and encouragement of the course. A bit like launching off on my own
Very much enjoyed this. Especially love the two grandparent lines. Echoes of Heaney's 'Digging', which is high praise indeed.
Oh wow 🤩 indeed indeed! Thanks so much 🔥
